After Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) shares have dropped more than 10% in the last few weeks, many investors were looking for a catalyst. This catalyst could be a new ad system by the company. Today Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) announced their new Real-time Ad system. The system enables advertisers to roll out ads to live content instantly. Ads can be pushed out in real time to mobile apps, youtube videos and websites .
“To help brands be a part of live events conversations in a way that’s timely and relevant, today we’re opening our Real-Time Ads beta to more brands, and we plan to roll it out more broadly later this year. With Real-Time Ads, brands will be able to instantly run an ad across YouTube, hundreds of thousands of apps, and over two million sites in our Google Display Network with a message that ties directly to the big moment consumers just experienced,” explained Google.
While the new ads are still in beta, their first major test will come within a few weeks during one of the most watched events in the world, the Super Bowl. Wix, a website building company, has stated that they will be using the new product during the big game. These new ads seem to be an effort by Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) to counter Twitter’s recent announcement pertaining to their ‘Event Targetting’ advertising option.
