Alphabet Inc (GOOG) Giving Away 2GB of Free Space for Google Drive

Share

If you are like me then there is never enough space within your Google Drive account to make you completely satisfied. Well, today Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) is doing something to help alleviate your longing for more space. As a away to celebrate ‘Safer Internet Day 2016’ Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) is providing everyone with 2GB of free space for their Google Drive accounts. The only catch? You need to go here and quickly run through a security update.

The update simply asks you to check some of your security preferences, recovery options, connected devices, etc, and literally took me about 40 seconds to go through completely. While 2GB of space may not be a ton, it all depends on what you are using it for. This amount of space isn’t enough for a HD movie, but it is enough space for probably another 2 years worth of saved emails. Regardless, everyone should take the time to secure their accounts, both on Google-owned properties and others, as that’s what today is all about.
