Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) has announced that there has possibly been a data leak within their site. In doing so, they have contacted some of their customers asking them to change their passwords.

This stems from improper storage of users’ passwords on the users’s devices or potentially transmitted to Amazon unsecurely.

The issue has been corrected, but the company’s stock is down 1.30% or $8.83 after the news, hitting $670.16 per share. About 2.37M shares traded hands. AMZN has risen 74.19% since April 22, 2015 and is uptrending. It has outperformed by 75.20% the S&P500.
