The New York Times is reporting that President Trump has decided to fire White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon. According to senior aides within the White House, Bannon’s departure date is unknown but the President has made the decision to terminate him from his duties.
The sources claim that Trump is having a hard time deciding on how to go about removing Bannon, but he has made the decision to terminate him from his duties. The same sources say that those close to Steve Bannon insist that it was Bannon’s decision and not Trump’s to part ways, and that Bannon actually submitted his resignation to Trump a week and a half ago, on August 7, but because of the events which took place in Charlottesville, Virginia, the announcement has been delayed.
It will be interesting to see when this announcement becomes official, now that the mainstream media knows about it. It will also be interesting to see what type of reaction this causes from the alt-right supporters of Trump, who have almost idolized Steve Bannon over the past year to year and a half.
