There is little doubt that President Trump says and does some pretty unexpected things, but a brief comment made yesterday to the press during a photo session with senior military personnel, has certainly got the press buzzing.
“You guys know what this represents,” Trump asked the press.
“Tell us,” one reporter said.
“Maybe it’s the calm before the storm,” Trump replied.
“What’s the storm,” a different reporter asked him. “On Iran? On ISIS? On what?”
“We have the world’s great military people in this room,” before concluding the photo session.
Another reported pressed the issue before the President began to leave the room, asking once again “What storm, Mr. President?”
“You’ll find out,” Trump replied.
While it’s anyone’s guess as to what the President was talking about, the very fact that he brought the comments to the press by asking them what the gathering of top military personnel meant, shows that something is likely underway. Could it be a strike on North Korea, a ramped up plan to defeat ISIS, military or political action taken in Iran or just another random comment made by the President to try and take the media’s attention off of issues within his own administration? It’s really anyone’s guess at this point.
The back-and-forth between the President and the press can be seen in the video clip below.

With multiple administration officials accused of abusing the use of government funded private flights, with Secretary of State Rex Tillerson accused of calling Trump a ‘moron’ and various other scandals involving Trump and his campaign’s connections with Russia, who knows if these comments were meaningful or simply a deflection.
