Is, Inc. (AMZN) About to Launch Their Own European Air Freight Service?


This morning, The Evening Standard has reported that, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) has been slowing building out what could eventually become a full-scale European air freight service. According to sources, the company has chartered a Boeing 737 to fly between Germany, the UK and Poland, and the Evening Standard says that these flights are making up to five trips each week, delivering thousands of packages in the process. These trips, which link numerous Amazon fulfillment centers within Europe could just be the start to what Amazon seems to be trying to accomplish. In fact, reports suggest that the company may soon begin flying to Italy and Spain.

This news comes after it was revealed earlier in the week that, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) was trying to lease as many as 20 jets for similar trials in Wilmington, Ohio. By cutting out yeat another middleman of sorts, Amazon could save money while also speeding up the delivery time of their shipments. The stock decreased 0.14% or $0.91 on December 24, hitting $662.79. Approximately shares traded hands. AMZN shares have risen 54.99% since May 22, 2015 and are currently uptrending.
