Time Warner Inc (TWX) CEO Does Not Want to Spin Off HBO

While rumors have been building for weeks now, that Time Warner Inc (NYSE:TWX) may be either looking for a suitor for the entire company, or perhaps just their HBO division, or even spinning off their HBO assets, this week we got a bit more clarity from CEO Jeff Bewkes.

Bewkes said that he is against spinning off or selling Time Warner’s (NYSE:TWX) HBO segment since it could destroy value for the company’s shareholders. Shareholders seem to be losing patience with Bewkes and the company as shares continue to underperform expectations. As for selling the entire company, according to a report from yesterday’s shareholder’s meeting Bewkes ‘played coy’ when asked about the option, saying that he wants to increase the value of the stock for shareholders.
