Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom are going to stay married.
Their divorce, which she initiated in December 2013, has been called off. Khloe’s attorney, Laura Wasser, filed the action on Wednesday. Odom signed the “Request for dismissal” the day before, according to court documents. The original petition for divorce was never processed by a judge and was therefore not finalized.
“I’m not rushing into my divorce because I’m not looking to get married tomorrow, so I don’t have a deadline,” Khloe said in July. “I’m not rushing it. So when it’s time and it’s supposed to happen, it will.”
The pair had been wed in September of 2009, after meeting just one month prior. But rumors of infidelity and drug use rocked the marriage, and just fifteen months later they went their separate ways.
An unidentified source revealed that Odom and Kardashian rekindled their relationship during his time at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, where he spent six nights before being flown to Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles for more specialized care.
“This is a very delicate and difficult time for both Lamar and Khloe, and the most sensible thing to do at such a time is not make any big moves and put everything on hold,” the source continued. “So that’s what she is doing.”
Khloe has remained by Lamar’s side since October 13, when the 35-year-old basketball star was found unresponsive at the Love Ranch brothel in Crystal, NV, after a weekend binge that according to police included cocaine, alcohol and an herbal sexual supplement.
She has admitted to still having feelings for him since they split up.
“Lamar is genuinely one of the best people I’ve ever met, and everyone says that when they meet him. I think Lamar’s gonna always be that person [for me] but that’s what made it so special. Even if I had it for five years or whatever, it was the best ever and I’m grateful I did. Some people don’t get that ever and I had that magic for a long time.”
And Odom has said on several occasions since their separation that he loves Khloe and that she would always be his wife.
