If you follow Donald Trump on Twitter and happen to have smartphone notifications turned on, then it’s very likely you are late to bed and early to rise. Like clockwork, President Trump continues to tweet, usually late at night, a few times in the afternoon and then again at the break of dawn. The last 24 hours has certainly not strayed from this pattern.

Trump’s tweetstorm began late last night as news broke that his call with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull didn’t go as many would have assumed. As a staunch ally of the United States, one would think that any conversation between the two nations would be pleasant, with each nation offering to help one another in various areas. This, however, is Donald J. Trump, the author of ‘Art of the Deal’ and the man who seems to change his mind on key issues as quickly as a scared mouse on speed.

Instead of a friendly phone call, reports from the Associated Press indicate that the conversation, which lasted approximately 30 minutes, quickly turned confrontational. Trump reportedly got angry about an agreement between Obama and Turnbull in which the United States would take in 1,250 refugees, currently being held in offshore detention centers on Papua New Guinea’s Manus Island and the Island nation of Nauru. The refugees, who primarily arrived by makeshift boat from Iran, are currently living in extremely poor conditions on these two islands, some for close to 4 years. According to reports, Trump abruptly hung up on Turnbull, after calling the deal ‘dumb’ and clearly getting angry. The following Tweet then was posted at 10:55 pm EST:

Do you believe it? The Obama Administration agreed to take thousands of illegal immigrants from Australia. Why? I will study this dumb deal!

After cooling off a bit last night, President Trump began the tweetstorm once more at approximately 6:13 am, this time venting about the violent protests which erupted at U.C. Berkeley last night as alt-right Breitbart editor Milo Yiannopoulos was scheduled to speak. Yiannopoulos is known for writing right-leaning articles such as “How To Make Women Happy: Uninvent The Washing Machine And The Pill”. In this morning’s tweet, Trump threatened to pull federal funding for the university:

If U.C. Berkeley does not allow free speech and practices violence on innocent people with a different point of view – NO FEDERAL FUNDS?

Within 20 minutes of that tirade, Trump chose yet another topic: Iran. Iran recently test-fired a ballistic missile, which convinced the Trump Administration to publicly declare that they are putting Iran ‘On Notice’. Just what does ‘On Notice’ mean? We don’t know and apparently neither did the Pentagon who, as of last night, was not even made aware of such a declaration. Trumps tweets read as follows:

“Iran has been formally PUT ON NOTICE for firing a ballistic missile. Should have been thankful for the terrible deal the U.S. made with them! Iran was on its last legs and ready to collapse until the U.S. came along and gave it a life-line in the form of the Iran Deal: $150 billion.”

While it can be argued how effective “tweet-diplomacy” is in running the world’s superpower, the President’s actions likely are not helping either our allies or adversaries sleep better at night.

Donald Trump’s use of grammar ‘typical of children aged 11 and under’ {www.independent.co.uk}.

This 70 year old man talks and thinks like an eleven year old. Is this not proof enough that he is mentally handicapped?

The Presidency of the USA is held by an 11 year old.

Agreed, the scary part is a lot of Americans think he is brilliant. Crazy world we live in.

  • His vocabulary is on par with mine and I am as dumb as they come.

He’s really going to get us into a war via twitter, isn’t he? We have a giant child as a president. Pathetic.
