To start off the week, we have learned that Mike Dubke, President Trump’s communications director, has decided to step down from his position in the White House. This move by the 47-year-old actually took place back on May 18 but he offered to stay on while Trump made his first overseas trip last week. While the resignation has been confirmed, Dubke is still working at the White House. It is unknown when his last day of work will come, but it’s possible that Trump wants to keep him on until he hires a replacement.
This may be one of many resignations and firings we see from the Trump White House over the next week or two, as the President realizes that he needs to come to grips with the mess that he has created among his administration. With much of the White House staff in disagreement over how Trump has been operating things, and the way that the administration has been handling the media, it is expected that we could see a major shakeup very soon.
On Monday, David Bossie and Corey Lewandowski both met with Donald Trump, allegedly to discuss taking positions within the White House. We expect to hear more soon. Will Steve Bannon, Jared Kushner or Sean Spicer be next? Anything is possible in the wild world of Washington.
