43% to 48% of Americans Feel Donald Trump Should be Impeached

As many of us who have been following poll numbers know, when it comes to Donald Trump’s presidency, these numbers are really unprecedented. For Donald Trump himself, these numbers are just “FAKE NEWS”, but for the rest of America, they allow us to see how far the President’s approval ratings have fallen since taking office and imposing various rules on the country.

This morning, a new POLITICO/Morning Consult poll was released and the numbers in disfavor of President Trump are really staggering. This is especially true when it comes to those Americans who want to see Trump impeached.

“If President Trump was hoping his foreign trip would shift the conversation away from scandals, he may be out of luck,” stated Morning Consult Co-Founder and Chief Research Officer Kyle Dropp. “Over the last week, support for beginning impeachment proceedings among voters rose from 38 percent to 43 percent.”

As staggering as these numbers sound in favor of a Trump impeachment, yet another poll released last week is even more bleak for the President. According to the Public Policy Poll, a whopping 48 percent of Americans are in support of a Trump impeachment.

With close to half of America (yes, that includes Republicans and independents as well as Democrats) favoring the country moving towards impeachment hearings against Trump, it appears as though the American people want answers, one way or another. The House of Representatives would ultimately be the ones to decide if President Trump should be impeached, and if these numbers hit 50%+ it will be hard for any congressman or congresswoman to vote against their constituents.

While 43-48% is a very large percentage in favor of such action, there is still a larger number who do not feel impeachment is necessary. It will be interesting to see how public perception changes as more details of the Trump/Russia investigations are released to the public via open hearings as well as through continued leaks.
