Last week it was James Comey’s testimony that had the media buzzing. This week it’s the testimony of Attorney General Jeff Sessions in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee which likely will be the buzz. Sessions is scheduled to appear under oath in front of the committee at 2:30 PM EST, and you can watch it all live right here:
According to reports, Sessions is expected to refute many of the claims made by former FBI Director James Comey last week, while also refusing to discuss his conversations with the President, under the guise of executive privilege. It will be interesting to see just how much Sessions is willing to offer up and if such testimony will effectively pit his word against Comey’s, all under oath.
According to sources, Sessions likely had a third undisclosed meeting with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak, and I’m sure the Democrats on the committee will be certain to get to the bottom of such allegations. Meanwhile Senate Republicans on the committee will likely try and discredit Comey’s testimony by trying to get Sessions to refute many of the most damaging claims made by the former FBI director last week. While many political pundits expect this testimony to lack much incite as Sessions may simply refuse to answer many questions or claim that he does not recall details, others within the political spectrum expect fireworks. We will all find out shortly.
If you missed the testimony you can simply replay the video above in it’s entirety or simply tune into the various mainstream media outlets for an overview later this evening.
