While you probably missed President Trump’s early morning tweet today because you were likely sleeping, it may have been the most uninformed, deceitful tweet he has made yet. As you know, the President is currently on a overseas trip and today he’s in Hamburg, Germany to meet with world leaders at the G20 Summit. For those who are not aware, the G20 Summit is an economic forum of the world’s top leaders which takes place each year. Usually discussions related to global, as well as local economies take place here, but according to the President’s tweet this morning, the topic of conversation was something else:
“Everyone here is talking about why John Podesta refused to give the DNC server to the FBI and the CIA. Disgraceful,” Trump tweeted at 3:40 AM EST.
There are multiple issues with this tweet. First of all, it’s highly unlikely that ‘everyone’ at the economic summit was so interested in Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman, John Podesta’s actions 8 months ago. Second of all, John Podesta has nothing what-so-ever to do with the Democratic National Committee, nor did he have anything to do with the decisions made by the committee to turn over access to their server. To take things further, the CIA also has nothing to do with investigating such matters, as they are responsible for spying on foreign governments not domestic politicians.
Podesta this morning fired off a series of seven tweets, all quickly putting Trump in his place and undoubtedly making him look like a fool.
“On a x-country road trip with my wife. Pulled in for a pit stop in E. Fairmont W. Va. to see that our whack job POTUS @realDonaldTrump is tweeting about me at the G20. Get a grip man, the Russians committed a crime when they stole my emails to help get you elected President. Maybe you might try to find a way to mention that to President Putin.
BTW, I had nothing to do with the DNC. God only knows what you’ll be raving about on twitter by the time we get to Utah. Dude, get your head in the game. You’re representing the US at the G20,” Podesta tweeted.
By the looks of things, the former chairman of Clinton’s campaign understands the US government, world politics and how to deal with a hostile foreign powers better than our own sitting President does. The President has continued to direct his anger towards Hillary Clinton and her associates rather than the man he met today, who happened to give orders to hackers to steal the emails of both Podesta and the DNC, Vladimir Putin.
