This last week has been one that has allegedly driven the White House into a state of chaos. Following a series of New York Times reports showing that Donald Trump Jr., Jared Kushner and Paul Manafort all attended a meeting at Trump Tower with a Russian lawyer and a British publicist claiming to have dirt on the DNC and Hillary Clinton, the White House scurried to tie up loose ends.

This has been the first time that anyone within the Trump campaign has admitted to what seems to be, at the very least, attempted collusion with a hostile foreign power. Over the last few days, however, the Trump administration has been trying to minimize the damage from the revelations by claiming that the lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya, had no ties to the Russian government and that no dirt on the DNC or Clinton was provided to the campaign.

Just moments ago, however, NBC issued a report that may force the White House to change its narrative. According to NBC, yet another individual with strong ties to the Russian government attended the meeting on June 9, 2016 at Trump Tower. This individual, which NBC is refusing to name, is  a Russian-American lobbyist and former Soviet counterintelligence officer.

Ir.net did a tiny bit of research and has concluded that the man’s name is Rinat Akhmetshin.  Akhmetshin is suspected by U.S. officials of having ongoing ties to the Russian government. He has denied to NBC that he has any connection to the Kremlin.  Mr. Akhmetshin was born in Russia, where he served in the Soviet military prior to immigrating to the United States. He currently holds a dual citizenship, and often is referred to as a ‘Russian political gun for hire’.

While this story doesn’t prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the meeting was set up as a means to discuss cooperation between the Trump Campaign and the Kremlin, it is yet another major shoe to drop about a meeting that the Trump administration claims was nothing.  In fact, when Sean Hannity asked Donald Trump Jr., “So as far as you know, as far as this incident is concerned, this is all of it?” Trump Jr.’s response was, “This is everything. This is everything.

Additionally, it is interesting to note that Jared Kushner recently revised his list of foreign agents he had met, adding over 100 individuals, and this individual was not included.
