Trump Claims It’s ‘Not a Vacation’ While Apparently Playing Golf

Over the course of the last 7+ months since President Trump has taken the oath of office, it has become apparent that the 45th President of the United States likes to tell lies — or at least half truths, depending on who you ask. It has come to a point where you have to question every single word that comes out of his mouth. Some of his supporters aren’t bothered by this, while others say that his unpredictability keeps our enemies on their heels, but in reality, a lying President can not be seen as a true leader — at least not from what I’ve learned.

During President Obama’s 8 years in office, Trump was one of his biggest critics. It seemed as though Donald Trump would criticize Obama about his golf outings more than anything else. So when Trump took office, it was assumed by many that he would stay off of the golf course, at least for the most part.

It turns out that Trump has been golfing much more frequently than President Obama. In fact, the numbers aren’t even close. Whether it was him taking frequent winter and spring golf vacations to his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, or his more recent trips to his Bedminister, New Jersey golf club, it seems as though almost every weekend Trump can be seen on the links. However, no golf vacation (if you want to call it that) has been quite as long as the one in which Trump has just begun. He has left the White House for a 17-day stay at his Bedminister golf club, but according to Trump, it “is not a vacation”. In fact, Trump, after taking much heat on social media, decided to tweet a little message to his followers yesterday afternoon:

“Working in Bedminster, N.J., as long planned construction is being done at the White House. This is not a vacation – meetings and calls!” Trump tweeted.

The problem with this statement is that there were photos and videos taken of Trump in his golf attire, driving a golf cart with clubs in the back, probably only minutes or hours prior to this tweet. (see below)

While, in all fairness, the White House is undergoing some renovations, which would have temporarily forced Trump from his living quarters, it’s hard to say that you aren’t on vacation when you are seen driving around a golf course with your golfing clothes on. Perhaps this wouldn’t be such a big deal if Trump didn’t attack Obama for doing the exact same thing every chance he got.
