Three Senators Ask The DOJ To Investigate Sebastian Gorka’s Nazi Ties

Following the ousting of White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon, many on the left are now calling for the resignations or firings of two additional White House advisers, counter terrorism adviser Sebastian Gorka and adviser Stephen Miller. It is Sebastian Gorka, however, who Democrats are quite weary of.

Yesterday afternoon three Democratic Senators, Ben Cardin of Maryland, Dick Durbin of Illinois and Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut sent a letter to the Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security asking them to investigate the counter terrorism adviser. At the center of the investigation that these three men are calling for, is whether or not Gorka is a member of a Hungarian group called Vitézi Rend, which is under the direction of ‘Nazi Germany.”

The group was founded in Hungary in the first half of the 20th century and still remains active today.

“Membership in an anti-Semitic organization like the Historical Vitézi Rend should raise serious concerns regarding whether an individual holds the sort of ‘hostile attitudes’ that concern the administration,” wrote the senators. “Failure to address this case would further confirm the intent of this Administration is to discriminate on the basis of religion, rather than combat extremist views.”

The current leader of Vitézi Rend had confirmed to Buzzfeed, back in March of this year, that Gorka is in fact currently a member of his group. Gorka, however, denied such connections, saying:

“I have never been a member of the Vitez Rend. I have never taken an oath of loyalty to the Vitez Rend. Since childhood, I have occasionally worn my father’s medal and used the ‘v.’ initial to honor his struggle against totalitarianism.'”

Gorka was brought into his position at the White House because of Bannan, who himself believes in the ideologies of the alt-right. Even without these calls yesterday from Senators, Cardin, Durbin and Blumenthal, those both inside and outside the White House have questioned if Gorka may be the next to go.
