Chris Cuomo Just Unleashed on Kellyanne Conway During Gun Debate Conversation

There are few reporters who are able to grapple with Kellyanne Conway on air like CNN’s Chris Cuomo can, and this morning was certainly no different. At just before 8am, Kellyanne Conway made an appearance on CNN to discuss, among other things, the Las Vegas massacre. What happened next can only be described as a complete tongue whipping by Cuomo.

Cuomo immediately starts out by asking Conway why this isn’t the time to talk about gun control. Conway quickly turns the conversation to the bump stock, the device which was used by the killer in order to basically turn his semi-automatic rifle into an automatic rifle that can fire 400-600 rounds per minute.

“We just know that legally he could amass an arsenal, and attach something to his weapons that allow them to rain down fire, which he never would have been able to do if he didn’t use something that was legal and easy to get,” Cuomo stated.

“Legal in 2010, the Obama administration, Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms Bureau said they would not regulate that. That should be part of this conversation“.” Conway replied.

“So you admit it was a mistake in 2010. Why don’t you fix it right now?” Cuomo asked.

“No, I’d like everybody to be involved in the conversation here, because that was seven years ago, for a different president. Donald Trump was busy being a successful businessman in New York,” Conway responded.

Conway then turned her attention towards attacking Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren for tweeting too much about Russia and not enough about gun control. This is pretty ironic since almost the entire GOP has been against any gun control legislation.

“She [Hillary Clinton] has tweeted about guns one time this year; Bernie Sanders zero times; Elizabeth Warren zero times. They have tweeted about Russia over 30 times, Sanders and Warren. And to approximate CNN’s own coverage, your obsession of Russia has been to the exclusion of this conversation,” Conway stated.

Cuomo simply rolled his eyes and shook his head as Conway continued to deflect blame towards the usual cast, before he jumped in, saying:

“Kellyanne, I’m tired, so I apologize in advance, but I’ll tell you. A lot of this doesn’t wash. All you need to know about the bump stock is that it was legal and that’s what enabled him to lay down that field of fire… Don’t cheapen what happened.”

Conway replies, “Don’t go there, but Cumo just blows her off with a “Oh I’m going there my friend.”
