(NASDAQ:YHOO) shares had been up this week after reports surfaced that the company’s board was discussing whether or not their internet assets should be sold off, or even if the entire company should be broken up with the capital being returned to shareholders.
While Alibaba certainly isn’t the only possible suitor for these assets, they were one company which made a lot of sense. Other possible buyers could include Verizon (VZ) and IAC/InterActive (IACI) according to the Wall Street Journal.
The stock has fallen 1.30% or $0.47 following this negative news, hitting $35.19 per share. Approximately 4.28M shares traded hands. YHOO shares have declined 16.26% since April 30, 2015 and are currently downtrending. It has underperformed the S&P500 by 16.06%.
