Aerojet Rocketdyne Holdings Inc (AJRD) Has Won $1.4 Billion in contracts from NASA and Boeing

Aerojet Rocketdyne Holdings Inc (AJRD) has announced that they’ve won two major conntracts. The first, a $1.16 billion deal with NASA which will restart the production of an engine once used by the shuttle program, the RS-25. The engine will be eventually used to power a Space Launch System (SLS) to the planet Mars.

The second contract was with Boeing o and is worth an estimated $200 million for work on another system for a NASA service module.

The stock is up 19.08% or $3.1 after the news, hitting $19.35 per share. About 2,754 shares traded hands. AJRD has declined 21.76% since April 22, 2015 and is downtrending. It has underperformed by 20.75% the S&P500.
