You all likely know John Stamos from his role in the hit sitcom Full House, where he had a lead role as Jesse Katsopolis in 192 episodes spanning from 1987-1995. Stamas, who has also starred in a laundry list of other television shows and films since then, seems to be once again at the top of his game. A new sitcom called Grandfathered, which premiered on Fox at the end of last month, and a reboot of Full House planned for release next year on Netflix has the star flying high once again.
This is all if a charge, stemming back to an incident on June 12th of this year, doesn’t get in his way.
Stamos has just been charged with driving under the influence of drugs by the Beverly Hills Police Department. The 52-year-old actor was caught driving erratically back in June and was taken to a hospital. Charges for this incident have finally been brought up, and if convicted, Stamos could face as much as six months behind bars.
The Beverly Hills PD had refused to state which drug was found in Stamos’ system at the time of the incident, but we can surmise that the substance was not marijuana by the fact that Stamos checked himself into a rehab facility following the incident in June.
It’s likely that any jail sentence would not have to be served until next year, but such a sentence could be an issue for Stamos, who is currently working on two major television shows, Fox’s Grandfathered, which he is the star of, and Full House, which he plays a major role in.
The actor will be arraigned today, but since it’s only a misdemeanor charge, his attorney will likely be present for him. According to the Beverly Hills PD, the case is currently still under investigation, and there was no word as to why it took them so long to present the case to prosecutors.
Will this have any major impact on the filming of either Grandfathered or Full House? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
