(Updated 623PM ET) It has suddenly gone from 6 people in the infamous June 9, 2016 meeting in which Donald Trump Jr. met with a Russian lawyer who had promised damaging information on Hillary Clinton and the DNC, to reports coming out from CNN that there were actually 8 people in that meeting.
IR.net believes we may know who these two additional individuals were. As we reported earlier, we surmised that there may have been a second meeting taking place between the Trump campaign and Russian associates at Trump Tower on June 17, 2016. Additionally, we mentioned that the wife of Russian billionaire Aras Agalarov, Irina, as well as a Russian translator named Yana Gorokhova may have attended that meeting.
CNN reported today, after our initial report of the possibility of a second meeting, that there were two additional individuals at the meeting on June 9. CNN’s report highlighted the fact that these individuals were a representative from the Agalarova family, as well as a translator. Coincidence? Irina Agalarova has represented her family in the past, but Gorokhova was not the translator present.
Buzzfeed has confirmed that Anatoli Samochornov, a Russian-born interpreter who has worked with the Kremlin-linked attorney Natalia Veselnitskaya, was also sitting in on the meeting on June 9, 2016.
As for Irina Agalarova, we haven’t confirmed if she was present as she has not responded to our inquiries. It appears possible that Agalarova was in on the meeting as well — a meeting also attended by Donald Trump Jr., Paul Manafort, Jared Kushner, Russian attorney Natalia Veselnitskaya, Rob Goldstone, Russian lobbyist Rinat Akhmetshin and now Anatoli Samochornov.
There are more details in our original article, showing that Irina Agalarova was in close vicinity to Trump Tower (within 0.3 miles) on June 17, 2016, as well as additional details surrounding the travel of Yana Gorokhova, Irina Agalarova, Rob Goldstone, Natalia Veselnitskaya and Donald Trump Jr.
