Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN) Echo Now Compatitible With Uber

This Super Bowl Sunday, Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) plans to show off their Echo virtual assistant device to the world via a Super Bowl commericial. Before that happens, however, the company has signed on one very important partner. That partner? Uber.

Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) has integrated the Uber API within the Echo smart hub, enabling users to quickly hail a ride via their voice over the echo device. All a user has to do is say ‘call me an Uber’ or any number of similar phrases and the Echo will automatically have a car show up to their home or office. While this may not be the main selling point of the Echo device, it certainly comes at a perfect time for Amazon to air its commercial this weekend. The stock is down 5.95% or $31.93 following the news, hitting $504.33 per share. Approximately 6.04 million shares traded hands. AMZN shares have risen 22.60% since July 1, 2015 and are currently uptrending. It has outperformed the S&P500 by 31.47%.
